Jackie Chan joins Changchun Film Studio

Martial arts star Jackie Chan was appointed as Chief Director of Changchun Film Studio (CFS) on Dec 2, a benefit promotion of the movie industry in Changchun, capital of Jilin province.

JACKIE CHAN, an international business established by and named after Jackie Chan, and CFS also signed a cooperation agreement during the appointment ceremony.

Wang Xiaoping, member of the standing committee of the Jilin provincial committee, attended the ceremony and said the cooperation will contribute to CFS' global competitiveness.

She mentioned that she wishes more good movies could be produced under the guidance of the renowned director and star.

Jackie Chan shared his feelings of being named the chief director and told the audience his plans for the future.

Changchun Film studio, founded in October 1945, was the first film studio to begin operations after the establishment of the People's Republic of China.

It became known as the cradle of Chinese movies since the country's first puppet film, science and educational films, cartoon film, long feature film and dubbed film were all made there.

The cooperation will help CFS integrate its advantageous resources and contribute to the rise of China's movie industry.
