Intelligent parking system applied in Guiyang

A new intelligent parking system was put into use in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, on Nov 27.

Through an intelligent testing system for every parking space, an electronic pole turns on a red light when a driver parks his/her car in the space and then starts timing after one minute to automatically charge a fee. The driver needs to download a mobile app to scan the QR code on the pole for payment. The whole procedure should take only three minutes.

Altogether, there are 566 intelligent parking spaces in the district along Jinyuan, Fujian and Lanzhou streets. More parking spaces are expected to be in use on Hefen Road and Fuzhou Street.

“The intelligent parking system not only saves labor cost, but also avoids the charge problems,” said Cao Yang, general manager of a parking management company in Guanshanhu district.

The parking fee cost for the intelligent parking system will be according to the standards made by Guiyang Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
