15 people awarded as Model Jilin Good Persons

To further promote socialist core values, the Jilin Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department and the Jilin Civilization Office hosted a Model of Jilin Good Person activity for the third season in 2017 on Nov 26 at Jilin TV.

Chen Yanhong and another 14 people were awarded as Models of a Jilin Good Person and Bo Xiufang and 101 others earned the honor of Jilin Good Person. The activity described their virtues through videos, interviews and singing performances.

Chen Yanhong, a representative of the 15 Model of Jilin Good Person, started to donate her blood in 1998. To date, she has donated blood nearly 40 times, giving a total of 7,600 milliliters.

She leads a blood donation voluntary team to support the local medical system. She also organizes some other voluntary activities to help poor families and dropout children.

Forest lookout Niu Shengguo, another winner, has been dedicated to forest protection for many years. He overcomes huge difficulties during his work such as a terrible environment, a lack of nutritional food and rheumatism. But he never faltered in his determination to safeguard local forests.

Wu Jie, after becoming a model, is very excited and says that being awarded as a model is a great honor for him and he will continue to help more people in need. Wu has for a long time struggled bravely against the criminal element in society and was recognized as having a grade 10 disability after being hurt.

Cong Tienan, director of the Discipline Inspection Group of the Science and Technology Bureau of Siping City, is determined to contribute more to Jilin and its people after earning the honor.

The story of every winner contains his or her efforts to promote the spirit of the Chinese nation and socialist core values. Their performances inspire more and more people to serve society.
