Sanmenxia Museum contributed four porcelains to an exhibition of ancient porcelains held at Yuncheng city, Shanxi province.
The exhibition was jointly initiated by Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and Hebei provinces and undertaken by Yuncheng Bureau of Cultural Relics and Yuncheng Museum. It will last until March 5, 2018 and people are able to enjoy the relics for free.
More than 200 pieces (sets) of porcelains contributed by 58 cultural relics collection entities of the four provinces were displayed at the exhibition. The porcelains were from dynasties of Song (960-1279), Liao (916-1125), Jin (1115-1234) and Yuan (1271-1368), were exhibited to demonstrate the advanced ceramics and the artistic achievements of ancient China.
The four porcelains from Sanmenxia, were a pillow, a vast and a kettle of the Song Dynasty, as well as a pot of the Yuan Dynasty, representing the porcelain art of Yunnan province.
Porcelain pillow of the Song Dynasty is 10 cm high, 22.8 cm long and 15 cm high. With two Chinese characters "德福" (virtue and blessing) in the middle, the pillow is covered with images of chrysanthemum and peony. [Photo/smxmuseum.com]
The vast of the Song Dynasty is 29.6 cm high with a mouth diameters of 6.2 cm, bottom diameter of 9.8 cm and an abdominal diameter of 19 cm. It is decorated with images of chrysanthemum peony and lotus. [Photo/smxmuseum.com]
The pot of the Yuan Dynasty is 25 cm high, with a month diameter of 10.6 cm, bottom diameter of 8.8 cm and an abdominal diameter of 22.6 cm. Its abdominal is decorated with a purple mark, adding beauty to its elegant model. [Photo/smxmuseum.com]
