Ejin Horoo Banner in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was recently recognized as one of the National Leisure Agricultural and Rural Tourism Demonstration Counties, according to a list revealed by the Chinese Agricultural Information Network, a website affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture. It is the only county in Inner Mongolia to receive such an honor.

The government of Ejin Horoo Banner has been focusing on rural tourism development in recent years, basing the efforts around its inherent geographical and environmental advantages. Now seeing economic growth and an increase in people’s income, the area’s more than 40,000 residents are benefiting from the flourishing rural tourism industry.
