The School of Economics at Peking University signed a cooperation agreement with Guangzhou's Conghua district on Nov 25 to build a branch campus for the education of high-end talents.
Located in Wenquan town of Conghua district, the School of Economics South China Branch Campus will cover an area of 10 hectares and will be completed and put into use by 2019.

The two parties will team up in many areas to promote Guangzhou's social and economic development. Together they will build a first-rate education platform, hold a range of high-end forums, set up a Peking University South China alumni club, establish first-tier talent training center, and build a strategy research center for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction.
According to Sun Qixiang, dean of the School of Economics at Peking University, the branch school is aimed at fostering high-end talents, promoting international academic communication and cooperation between the governments, industry, universities and institutes.
The branch school will help Guangzhou to develop a sustainable education system focusing on high-end talents, said Ouyang Weimin, deputy Party chief of Guangzhou.
