Yangzhou Chemical Industry Park (扬州化学工业园区) has a dock complex specializing in transporting liquid chemicals, with an annual handling capacity over 40 million metric tons. It is one of three provincial-level professional chemical industry parks in Jiangsu province.
The park now boasts the settlement of a number of well-known domestic and foreign petrochemical companies, including the Praxair Inc (United States), Total (France), Atotech (Germany), Toray (Japan), Sumitomo Seika Chemicals (Japan), Taiyo Nippon Sanso (Japan), Kumho Asiana (South Korea), Kingboard (Hong Kong), Chang Chun Group (Taiwan), Dalian Chemical Industry, Oriental Union Chemical (Taiwan), Far Eastern New Century (Taiwan), Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fiber, Sinochem International, China Huadian Corporation, Youth Chemical and Liaoning Oxiranchem Inc.
A petrochemical industrial chain was built initially with olefins and aromatics as the leading products, while the four major industries — petrochemicals, fine chemicals, new chemical materials and petrochemical logistics — have been developing in clusters.
