Ship-building industry in Yangzhou

Yangzhou's ship-building industry is home to a group of key enterprises, especially the leading China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) Co and Jiangsu Jinling Shipyard Co, whose annual shipbuilding capacity is nearly 10 million deadweight tons. 

Based on Yangzhou's three key industrial parks and a guideline for "professional, proficient, characteristic and creative" development, the city will strengthen the introduction and innovation of frontier technologies in ship design, manufacturing, outfitting, and coating. It will guide and encourage the integration and restructuring of enterprises, accelerate the transformation for high-end and characteristic products, and strive to develop core competitiveness in ship-building and its auxiliary equipment.

Geographical advantages- On the confluence of the Yangtze River and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Yangzhou stands as an important part in the Shanghai Economic Circle and Nanjing Metropolitan Circle. It has formed an all-round transportation advantage by connecting rivers, lakes and seas, and boasts easy access to various waterways, highways and railways. 

Industrial support- Yangzhou has established 3 key ship-building bases with sound development. They are the Jiangdu Ship-building Industrial Park, Guangling Ship-building (Heavy) Industrial Park, and Yizheng Ship-building Industrial Park. 

Supporting industries- There are over 200 ship supporting companies along the Yangtze River in Yangzhou. Some key parts have prominent advantages, such as power installation, marine deck machinery, cabin equipment, propulsion equipment, and outfitting equipment.
