Marshal Zhang's Mansion Museum stands on a key cultural relic protection site - Zhang's Residence site in Shenyang, the capital of China's Liaoning province. Owned by former army marshal Zhang Zuolin and his son Zhang Xueliang, a famous patriot, the museum was founded in 1914 and is a national 4A tourist attraction.
The mansion covering an area of 5.3 hectares is renowned for its historic buildings and connected courtyards with their palace-style dwellings, eaves and ridges, carved beams and painted rafters, and as the former residence of famous beauty and icon Zhao Yidi. It is the largest and most well-preserved figure's residence in Northeast China.
