The first phase of a crude benzene deep processing and comprehensive utilization project is set to be put into production in April 2018, according to a Nov 28 Baotou Daily report.
The project, based in Hondlon district of Baotou, covers an area of 33.3 hectares. It is being funded by Inner Mongolia Panxun Technology Co and will draw investment of 8 billion yuan ($1.21 billion).
The project includes a crude benzene production line which is expected to produce 50,000 tons of crude benzene annually upon completion, and national and autonomous region-level high polymer material R&D bases.
