Zhuhai firms sealed 34 preliminary agreements worth 26.8 million yuan ($4 million) during the 19th China High-Tech Fair (CHTF 2017) held from Nov 16 to 21 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. More deals can be anticipated as about 6,000 of 20,000 visitors showed intent to cooperate.
This year's fair comprised exhibitions, forums, and conferences as well as online and offline events.
Zhuhai enterprises took advantage of the maturity of the largest and most influential scientific and technological fairs in China. A 260-sq-m exhibition venue was arranged for Zhuhai companies to ensure exposure and visibility; the area being the second largest in Guangdong Province following only that allocated to Shenzhen itself.
Zhuhai's intelligent manufacturing industrial chain was fully represented with 60 cutting-edge sci-tech projects by 31 Zhuhai enterprises on display.
High-profile fields included robots, unmanned vessels, agricultural drones, virtual reality (VR) display technology, software, integrated circuits, environmental protection equipment, and new materials.

Eleven Zhuhai products from 10 firms were presented with Excellent Awards by the organizing committee. Among them were Zhuhai Yunzhou Intelligence Technology (Yunzhou-Tech), Zhuhai 4D Age Technology, Zhuhai United Laboratories, and Zhuhai Elephant Abrasives.
A promotional conference was held to spotlight businesses with the most growth potential. They were Gree Intelligent Equipment, an arm of the world's leading household appliances supplier Gree Electric Appliances; Zhuhai Yantong Environmental Technology, a leader on Radiant Ceiling technology and solutions; and Zhuhai Hetian Information Port, an incubation base for software startups and entrepreneurs.
It was the second time for Zhuhai to have such intense promotion during the Shenzhen fair. Thanks to the support and guidance of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, and a speech by Fotios Provatas, chairman of the Chamber of Greek-Chinese Economic Cooperation, the presentation this year achieved desired results, said an official.
The fair was not only a success for today; it also signaled future international commercial and cultural expansion for Zhuhai. For example, consensus was reached on establishing a Sister City relationship between Zhuhai and the Grecian city of Heraklion, the largest municipality and administrative capital of the island of Crete.
