Xiangyanghong 10
Xiangyanghong 10 is the first 10,000-ton oceanographic research ship independently developed by China. It was built by Shanghai Jiangnan Shipyard and delivered to the East China Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration in November 1979. It previously took an active role in the launch of carrier rockets and the synchronization of communication satellites, and was used for conducting oceanographic research in Antarctica.
As a multifunctional modern scientific research vessel integrating a variety of technical means, it can satisfy the demand for comprehensive marine environment investigation, detection as well as sampling in relation to marine geology, animals, physics, chemistry, meteorology and other aspects. In 1988, it was presented the Special Award of National Science and Technology Progress.
