After years of gardening, Li Wen'an, a 71-year-old man of Jianwenhe village in Taishan district of Tai'an, built a picturesque ecological park along the Jianwen River which winds through his village.
Covering an area of about 40 mu (2.67 hectare), the park is planted with hundreds of trees of different species, such as ginkgoes, oriental plane, cherry trees and goldenrain trees.

The path curving through the park is blanketed with the golden ginkgo leaves, creating a stunning view of in the genial sunshine of early winter.
"I've been dealing with saplings for a lifetime. When I was young, I cultivated seedlings and then sold them. Now I'm too old to rush around every day so I choose to enjoy my retirement and spend time in the park I built," said Li.
The park abuts the scenic Jianwen River, along which are several acres of swaying reeds, adding a quaint charm to the surrounding area.
Roads connecting the ecological park and the Jianwen River are built by Li for the convenience of visitors and villagers to take a stroll and enjoy the pleasant view.
