Aerospace Industry

With 165 industrial sectors, Shenyang is an important military and civil aviation base and center for aerospace research, development and manufacturing in China, with key enterprises, education and scientific research institutions such as Shenyang Aircraft Corporation and Shenyang Aerospace University. 

In 2016, more than 40,000 people were directly engaged in the aviation industry in Shenyang.

During recent years, the city has achieved rapid development in areas including general aircraft manufacturing, research, development and manufacturing of aircraft engines, and aerospace technology applications.

At present, the city focuses on the various fields of aviation manufacturing, general aviation and air transportation, with the aim of developing its aerospace industry into an industrial cluster worth over 100 billion yuan ($15.13 billion) by 2025.
