Covering 29.97 square kilometers, the Shenyang Area of China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone (中国(辽宁)自由贸易试验区沈阳片区), was officially established on April 10, 2017.
The pilot free trade zone gives priority to developing advanced equipment manufacturing industries like intelligent manufacturing and aeronautical equipment manufacturing, as well as to emerging industries like advanced materials, biological pharmaceuticals, and high-performance medical instruments. The zone will also prioritize such modern service industries as finance, logistics, and science and technology.
By Oct 10, 2017, 10,644 new companies had registered in the zone, with combined registered capital of 94.98 billion yuan ($14.41 billion). Among them, 87 companies are foreign-funded.
