Environment protection industry

Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets in any environment and to boost their protection Zhejiang province has accelerated the development of its green and recycling economy.

Among Zhejiang's industrial enterprises with an annual industrial output value above 20 million yuan ($3.03 million), the added value of environment protection industry in June 2017 was 14.7 billion yuan and with a growth rate 3.8 percent higher than that of other industrial enterprises with an annual industrial output value above 20 million yuan. The added value of the environment protection industry of first seven months of 2017 was 98.2 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 8.4 percent. 

The growth rate of added value of environment protection industry of months from March to June was 6.6 percent, 7.5 percent, 9.4 percent, 10.4 percent and 11.2 percent, increasing month by month. 

The strong domestic demand drives sales growth. In June, the sales value of environment protection industry was 63.9 billion yuan, a growth of 15.6 percent. The domestic sales value was 54.5 billion yuan, accounting for 95.3 percent of the total sales. 

The yield of environment protection products also increased. For example, the year-on-year increase of the yield of new energy vehicles, wind turbines and industrial electric furnaces increased by 4.7 fold, 2 fold and1.7 fold respectively.
