Dameisha Park, a national 5A tourist attraction in Guangdong province, was built in 1999 with the total investment of 120 million yuan ($18 million). It is located on beautiful Dapeng Bay in the eastern part of Shenzhen. Its 1,800 meter-long beach shines like a string of pearls.
The park was one of the ten major government projects for people's well-being in 1999. It covers an area of 180,000 sq m of which 100,000 are green land and 80,000 are lakes.
Since opening free to the public it has welcomed over 40 million tourists, including more than 500 provincial and 20 national leaders.
