The city received a total of 70.62 million tourists from around the world in 2016, representing an increase of 8.4 percent year-on-year. Out of that, domestic visitors accounted for 70.4 million, growing 8.4 percent, while international visitors accounted for 218,000, growing 3.2 percent.
The tourism income reached 103.91 billion yuan ($ 15.68 billion) in 2016, an increase of 14.4 percent year-on-year. Domestic tourism income hit 103.12 billion yuan, an increase of 14.5 percent, while international tourism income totaled $126.44 million, an increase of 10.7 percent.
