Three new JILIN-1 Agile video satellites were launched on Nov 21 from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, Shanxi province.
The satellites were created by Chang Guang Satellite Technology and have improved performances in terms of areas monitored with lower costs and shorter production periods.
JILIN-1 satellites are a part of the company's satellite innovation program which will include more than 60 satellites by the end of 2020.
The program intends to offer remote sensing data to governments and companies.
According to the company, cameras with higher resolution were installed on the new satellites for improved observations, which in turn help promote the commercialization of the satellites.
The new satellites were launched by the carrier rocket Long March-6, which is China's new generation liquid launch vehicle.
