Guangzhou Metro launches cultural activities to welcome Fortune forum

Guangzhou Metro has given the Canton Tower Station a facelift to welcome to the Fortune Global Forum 2017. 

Paintings under the themes of "Spring Flower", "Summer Fruit", "Autumn Night" and "Winter Festival" have been put on the station's walls and light boxes, offering citizens and inbound visitors an opportunity to learn about the distinctive local culture of Guangzhou, which is known as the "Flower City".

The Zhujiang New Town APM will also operate thematic trains themed "I Love Guangzhou" from Nov 28 while the city's tramcars will appear with paintings combining Guangzhou's iconic scenic spots with famous tourist attractions across the world.

Moreover, Guangzhou Metro will launch four types of special tickets on Nov 28.

Earlier on Nov 16, Guanzhou Metro announced its cooperation with internet giant Tecent to roll out an applet in WeChat, enabling citizens to pay for subway rides simply by scanning QR code. The special payment method is still under trial operation and only opens to 100,000 users.
