Innovation platforms drive Jilin’s service industry

The service industry is now playing a more vital role in industry upgrading and has become a main development force.

In recent years, Jilin province in Northeast China has channeled a lot of energy inservice industry agglomeration. It has built several platforms to boost the service industry.

Northeast Asia International Financial Center is a prime example. It is a financial platform with first-class facilities, information and resources.

Since its completion, it has attracted many enterprises. Till now, there have been 82 financial and other institutions with a total registered capital reaching 32.51 billion yuan($4.94 billion).

Many renowned companies have also set their offices here including Tencent and Hana Bank. It is predicted that the total employee count of all these companies will exceed 2,000, by the end of 2017.

Ferry Innovation Works is another platform. As the first makerspace of Jilin province, the place acts as a driving force to boost mass entrepreneurship and innovation of Jilin.

Under the spirit of "accumulating resources, improving value and creating wealth", it provides complete services to entrepreneurs such as training, angel investment and technology transfer.

It has been recognized as National Makerspace, Model Incubator, Top Ten Service Brand of Jilin, etc.

The Northeast Asia Culture and Science and Technology Park is the third incubator of the service industry in Jilin.

The park is support by both the government and civil circle and has now become the largest culture industry cluster district in NE China.

In 2016, there were 1,309 provincial platforms for mass entrepreneurship and innovation, 62 makerspaces, 187 provincial entrepreneurship incubators and 107 College Students Pioneer Parks in Jilin.

This year, the service industry added a value amounting to 624.05 billion yuan, increasing by 8.9 percent. The share of the service industry added value in GDP is 40.1 percent, 0.9 percent higher than the previous year.

To further boost its service industry, Jilin province has made a series of management regulations and has clarified relative industrial standards.

Jilin will put more efforts towards giving full play to the role of the service industry in promoting growth, optimizing economy and benefiting the people.
