The 24-day Guangzhou International Light Festival, one of the world's top lighting events, came to an end on Nov 19 with its illuminations having bathed more than 8 million visitors.
On Oct 28, the second day of the event, more than 270,000 people visited Huacheng Square, one of the three venues for the festival, hitting a record high.

The innovative lighting displays at Huacheng Square concluded yesterday while the works at the five bridges (including Jiefang Bridge, Haizhu Bridge, Jiangwan Bridge, Haiyin Bridge and Liede Bridge) over the Pearl River and Zhujiang New Town will continue to radiate until May 4 next year.
This year's festival overlapped with other international events such as World Cities Day, Guangzhou Fashion Week and Guangzhou International Design Forum, which has greatly helped to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Guangzhou and the rest of the world.
