Xiamen International Marathon
Since 2003, Xiamen International Marathon has been held annually for fourteen consecutive years. It is deemed as IAAF Gold Label Road Race for eight years consecutively. Every January, the first medal of the marathon race around the world is awarded here. The race has become a golden name card for Xiamen, showing its splendor to the entire world.
This is a race attracting the attention of world media. More than 40 domestic and overseas media including CCTV provide live aerial broadcast of the entire event. Many foreign media also focus on this event. Xiamen International Marathon has an audience of several billion, 70 percent of the world population have access to the live broadcast.
China International Fair for Investment and Trade
The China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, has been taking place in September every year in Xiamen since 1997. Themed "Introducing FDI" and "Going Global", CIFIT focuses on nationality and internationality, investment negotiation and investment policy promotion, coordinated development of national and regional economy, as well as economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait.
CIFIT is currently China's only international investment promotion event aiming at facilitating bilateral investment. It's also the largest global investment event approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition industry. CIFIT has the following major components: investment and trade exhibition, the International Investment Forum, a series of seminars on hot investment issues, and investment project matchmaking symposia.
Xiamen Industry Exposition
The Xiamen Industrial Exposition (XMIE), also known as China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition (CXMEE), exclusively authorized by China’s Ministry of Commerce, is jointly organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics Products, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, and Xiamen Municipal People’s Government. It is staged in Xiamen every year in April.
XMIE (CXMEE) was set up in 1997. Due to the strong support and proactive involvement of the business communities from both sides of the Taiwan Straits over the past 19 years, XMIE has evolved into the largest and most influential economic and trade exchange event across the Taiwan Straits, and the largest industrial exhibition in the West Coast Economic Zone. The expo explores the latest developments among the industries and offers high-level specialized forums and pertinent manufacturing events.
Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair
The Cross-Straits (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair usually opens in November each year in Xiamen, a coastal city in Fujian province. Initiated in 2008, the fair contains a series of exhibitions, forums and activities in cultural and art sectors. In 2012, the fifth fair was upgraded to a state-level expo, hosted by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Culture and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
The fair involves exhibitions regarding gardening, painting, sculptures and stone arts, forums related to digital technology and creativity industry, arts industry, gardening industry, and new media and visual arts, and activities such as creative fairs, movie display, doodles and cosplay. It is recognized as the first cultural industries fair co-hosted by the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, with the purpose of helping propel cross-Straits cooperation and exchange.
