Nansha hosts conference on talent scouting

The 2017 Guangzhou Nansha Talent Conference and Bay Area Talent Development Strategy Summit was held in Nansha district of Guangzhou on Nov 13, with government officials, university representatives and talents from Nansha's key industrial areas gathering to talk about talent development.

At the conference, a total of nine high-end talents were announced to be the talent counsel for Nansha district including Long Yongtu, former vice minister of Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and Yu Hongjun, former vice-minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China. Two key projects in the district and nine leading talents were offered government subsidies.

Long said that to lure more talents Nansha has to develop its industries first and attract more enterprises to settle down.

According to Yu, Nansha needs to further upgrade its talent retention mechanism, work hard to promote preferential policies and advantages of Nansha and target financial talents in Hong Kong and Singapore to boost its financial service industry.

Nansha district has attached great importance to talent introduction and has achieved great success. The district has offered nearly 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) in house-buying subsidies and a total of 200 million yuan in special subsidies for talents who settled in Nansha district.
