Guangdong Province's key role in reconstituting the two-millennia-old Maritime Silk Road will bring international news media to Zhuhai from Nov 28 to 30. Reuters and Tass, for instance, will report on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Forum on Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global & International Communication.
More than 100 media outlets will take part at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen Central Business District. A news briefing was held in Beijing on Nov 14 to outline the forum purpose and goals.
Guangdong's economic and social achievements in support of the Belt & Road Initiative will be aired through interviews with nearly a thousand high-profile figures. They include officials from national ministries, commissions, and provincial offices, as well as international experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs.
The information offices of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Zhuhai government are sponsoring the talks around the theme Cooperation, Communications & Value. The goal is to strengthen ties, whether in policy, science and technology, trade, finance, infrastructure, or any other area. In focus are international achievements resulting from the Chinese Going-Out strategy.
Paralleling the forum will be three seminars: the Sino-Foreign Media Cooperation Dialogue, Rebuilding New Trade Patterns Along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and Life Scientific Research Boosts a Healthy Silk Road.
An authoritative report exploring the level of Guangdong's Going-Out in the context of the Belt & Road Initiative will be released. An interactive exhibition will utilize scientific methods to display Guangdong's achievements, according to the organizing committee.
The organizers want to establish win-win cooperation between Guangdong and Silk Road countries and regions in trade, culture, science, and technology.
The forum is under the guidance of the official press agency, Xinhua, with the State Council Information Office and Guangdong provincial government contributing advice.
