Visitors flocking to Sanmenxia for swans

About 231 white swans have migrated to the Sanmenxia Swan Lake State Urban Wetland Park in Henan province to spend their winter by Nov 5, attracting waves of visitors, according to Sanmenxia Daily.

The wetland park has witnessed a dramatic increase in number of visitors since Nov 3. The crowd members range from local residents to visitors who made a bus tour from Xi'an, Yuncheng and Luoyang, according to the management office of the wetland park.

A group of at least 20 photography amateurs came from Guangzhou to capture the beauty of the swans. "We are deeply impressed by the sweet creatures," one of them said.

Workers have been scaling up efforts to provide sufficient food for the birds near Qinglong Lake, where the swans are mainly populated, said Ren Yanbo, director of the park's management office.

As the first batch of swans came in October, the focus of attention was all on them. According to a rough estimate, nearly 600 swans have been spotted in the wetlands of Sanmenxia.
