The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Shanghai FTZ) recently won the honor as the Top Free Zone in Asia Pacific Region, according to results of a selection launched by Site Selection magazine owned by US-based Conway Inc.
The selection targets global free trade zones. The organizer has sent questionnaires to more than 1,000 investment consultants from companies that have invested in the free trade zones, third-party institutions, universities and other organizations.
The questionnaire involves the success rate of investment in FTZs, professionalism, language ability of the service staff, the comprehensiveness of information of official websites, and others.
After the vote, Shanghai FTZ received the honor, cementing that its reform achievements have gained recognition from international media.
Shanghai FTZ's development has drawn the worldwide attention and also received recognition. In 2010, the Waigaoqiao Comprehensive Bonded Zone, predecessor of Shanghai FTZ, has been ranked No 1 among global free trade zones by London-based Financial Times.
