A promotion conference on Shanghai's Zhangjiang Science City was recently launched at the Silicon Valley in the United States.
The conference, co-organized by the Zhangjiang overseas (Silicon Valley) talent workstation and the Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association, is expected to bring in overseas talents, technology and projects to Zhangjiang.
Staff members of the overseas workshop introduced the national strategy of Shanghai International Scientific and Technological Innovation Center, overall planning of Zhangjiang Science City, and Zhangjiang's industrial development.
They also released four demand lists focused respectively on bringing in overseas talents, key enterprises and industrial projects, startup projects, and financial and investment institutions.
Zhangjiang is now collecting recruitment demands for overseas talents from local enterprises. Currently, 111 positions of 26 top institutions, including ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tianma Microelectronics Co, are on offer.
Those companies primarily need employees in fields of biotechnology, computer-based communication, materials science, and physics.
The Zhangjiang overseas (Silicon Valley) talent workstation started operation in June. It is designed to garner key foreign industry projects, outstanding startups, entrepreneurs, incubator projects and create a platform to combine science and technology with the industry.
The workshop will further contact talents, projects and technologies that showed interest in Zhangjiang Science City at the promotion conference and select a batch of quality ones to land in Zhangjiang.
