Jilin's first training institute to promote policies and goals mentioned at the 19th CPC National Congress was launched in Xiaoshan Village, Dunhua on Nov 6.

The institute will open training courses to teach people theories, policies, law, technology and culture.

The Jilin government aims to establish more training institutes in villages, government agencies, military campuses and schools.

The institutes will impact people in more than 9,300 villages and over 1,400 towns and neighborhoods. Increased knowledge about poverty alleviation is one of the main goals of the training.

There was a similar training institute in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912); it was actually the predecessor of Changchun Normal University.

In addition to training in policies and modern technology, lessons on some traditional arts like Dongxiao, a vertical Chinese bamboo flute, and intangible heritages will also be given at the institutes.
