German beer festival opens froths in Guangzhou

The 13th Guangzhou German Beer Festival, a carnival for tasting tasty German beers and dipping into German culture and customs, opened in Guangzhou on Nov 8.

The annual event has been held for 12 consecutive years since its inception in 2005. It has played a key role in spreading German culture in Guangzhou and promoting cultural exchange. This year, the event was held at the No 5 Hall of Guangzhou Liuhua Exhibition and Trade Center, covering an area of 2,000 square meters.

The festival features a range of German-style delicacies including steak, sausages, toasted bread and apple pies.

German band Muenchner Musikanten will perform music at the festival.

The festival runs until Nov 11.
