The 13th China International Children's Film Festival, or 2017 CICFF, a large-scale international exchange activity for the children's film industry will take place in Guangzhou from Nov 15 to 19.
Organized by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television with the approval of the State Council, the festival has been held since 1989, making it one of China's longest running film festivals.

The event has been held in Beijing, Zibo, Ningbo, Qingdao, Jiangyin, Siping and many other places for the past 12 sessions. As of the 13th session, the CICFF will be permanently held in Guangzhou, the flower city.
According to Jin Zhongqiang, secretary general of China International Children's Film Festival, the 2017 CICCF has received a total of 128 entries from home and abroad. Main activities of 2017 CICFF include the opening ceremony, exhibition of excellent domestic and foreign children's films, international judges commending excellent films, international forum on children's film and children's (animation) film trade fair.
During this year's event, 62 films will be played including 19 movies competing against each other for awards including "Best Children's Movie" and "Best Children's Cartoon".
The movies will be played at cinemas, middle schools and children's palaces in Guangzhou during the film festival. Thirty percent of the tickets for movies played in cinemas will be on sale to the public, with ticket prices between 20 yuan ($3) to 30 yuan ($4.5).
The 2017 CICFF will put special made films on display for the visually impaired as well children with autism.
Eagle-bone Flute & Saussurea Involucrata, a film directed by Li Yawei, will be played at the 2017 CICFF. [gzdaily.dayoo.com]
