Wuxi Rose Teenager Public Welfare Development Center has been donating books for seven years to students in poor areas of Yunnan province.
Helie Middle School in Wuxi recently organized a charity bazaar activity. The playground was filled with posters drawn by students, hand-made cakes and desserts and lovely scarves and gloves.
More than 2,000 students, teachers and parents have taken active part in the event for several years. Part of the funds has been used to build Rose bookstores.
All the schools in Chong’an district of Wuxi joined in the event, preparing to package the donated books.
Wuxi Metro also set up a book donation box at Taihu Square Station, which has received almost 100 books in the past half year.
Two logistics companies expressed their willingness to post these donated books to Yunnan province for free. Other bookstores also discounted their books.
With the help of all sectors of the society, a total of 30,000 books will be sent to Rose bookstores in rural areas, which is the most ever.
