Liang Pei, Party secretary of Zhanjiang Economic & Technological Development Zone, visited the Department of Foreign Investment Administration of the Ministry of Commerce and the China Association of Development Zones to solicit support and advice on Nov 3.

The delegation led by Liang first had talks with Shi Rongyao, the chairman of the China Association of Development Zones, outlining the zone's general situation to him and discussing its planning, innovative measures and future prospects.

It is expected that the association will leverage its superiority as a platform and bridge to support the zone in the process of attracting investments in iron and steel, petrochemicals, papermaking and military-civilian integration.

Shi gave the delegation an affirmative reply and said the association will continue to take advantage of its resources to assist the zone in investment attraction and sustainable development.

The delegation next visited the Department of Foreign Investment Administration. Gao Shangde, inspector of the Ministry of Commerce, instructed them in talent recruitment, environmental protection and investment attraction.

According to Gao, the Ministry of Commerce will exert all its strength to help the zone in system optimization, upgrading and renovation and contribute to its transition from an economic and technological development zone to a pilot free trade zone.
