2018 APEC SMETC to be held in Shenyang

10th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Conference and Fair (APEC SMETC) will be held in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning province from June 27-29 in 2018.

It was announced by the director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology at a press conference held in Shenyang on Nov 2.

As a large-scale international activity for economic and trade exchanges approved by the State Council, APEC SMETC is one of the brand activities of APEC SMEs.

APEC SMETC serves as an important platform for APEC members to learn from and inspire each other, promote the innovation and development of SMEs, and for SMEs from APEC member states to conduct economic and trade cooperation, winning recognition and praise from APEC member states.

With a theme of "Innovation Boosts Development and Cooperation Creates Future", the 10th APEC SMETC will organize 1,800 booths, with 400 set aside for foreign businesses; housing businesses from industries such as information technology, numerical control machine tools, aerospace equipment, marine engineering equipment, new energy vehicles, new materials, biomedicine and medical devices. New products, technologies and services from a total of 10 sectors will be on display.

Other activities, including a small and medium enterprises innovation and cooperation conference, a matchmaking meeting and a themed forum, will also be held during the APEC SMETC. Officials from APEC, experts, scholars and business representatives will be invited to discuss topics on cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the tendencies of Internet Plus, cross-border e-commerce, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The 10th APEC SMETC is being jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Liaoning Provincial Government.
