Inner Mongolia promotes ice and snow tourism

A promotion conference for ice and snow tourism was held in Arxan of Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 31, attracting representatives from nearly 70 organizations in the region’s travel sector. 

Representatives from Arxan, Hulunbuir and Manzhouli promoted winter tourism at the conference. In addition, China Comfort Travel in the region promoted its tourism products which are designed to help those in need. 

During recent years, due to its abundant tourism resources and distinctive cultures, Inner Mongolia has taken active steps and enjoyed rapid growth in the tourism sector.

Zhang Yujun, deputy director of the region’s tourism committee, said that Inner Mongolia has launched several themed tourism programs, which have attracted a large number of tourists, and that the region has great potential in developing ice and snow tourism.

Activities including a winter fishing festival, international steam locomotive festival and the China-Russia-Mongolia International Beauty Pageant will also be held during the winter.
