Renowned Guangzhou based artist Xu Hongfei has continued on his world exhibition tour, showcasing his life-size sculptures of "plump women" in Bogota, capital city of Colombia on Nov 1.
A total of 13 of the artist's works were displayed in Xu's solo exhibition in Bolivar Square in downtown Bogota. The Colombian capital is the 26th stop on Xu's world tour and is widely considered to be a center of art and culture in South America.
It is the second time that Xu has exhibited his work in South America, after visiting Peru in 2016. For this exhibition, Xu has specially created a series of works depicting the daily lives and spirit of Chinese people.
Organized by the Guangzhou municipal bureau of press, publication, radio, film and television, the exhibition will run until Nov 7.
In 2016, Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou visited Bogota and signed a communication and cooperation memo with the mayor of Bogota. This exhibition is considered an important event to deepen people-to-people communication between the two cities.
