Baotou, the largest city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, maintained steady growth in its tourism industry with tourism revenue hitting 36.6 billion yuan ($5.53 billion) during the first 10 months of 2017, year-on-year growth of 24.9 percent, according to local media.
Baotou received 10.6 million tourists in total during the first three quarters of the year, year-on-year growth of 16.2 percent.
The city now boasts 66 key tourism projects which are expected to draw investment of 34.94 billion yuan. And a total of 10.02 billion yuan is expected to be spent on the projects in 2017.
