工业互联网 (gōongyè hùliánwǎng): Industrial internet

The State Council, China's Cabinet, recently issued a document on deepening the government's Internet Plus strategy for advanced manufacturing, which aims to promote the rejuvenation of the real economy and accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading.

The meeting pointed out that the construction and development of the industrial internet should be accelerated, in order to promote the deep integration of the new generation information technology and manufacturing industry.

According to the document, the authorities can create an environment that is conducive to the prosperous development of the industrial internet through streamlining administration and delegating the power to the lower levels, and establishing supportive fiscal and taxation policies.

Next generation internet upgrading and the transformation to advanced manufacturing should be basically completed by 2020. Moreover, connectivity and integration based on the industrial internet should be encouraged, too, in order to cultivate intelligent, green, advanced manufacturing.

The authorities should support capable enterprises developing a large-scale industrial cloud platform to break "information isolated islands" and promote integration and sharing of manufacturing resources and data.
