Two Wuxi doctors named as National Moral Models

Another Wuxi receiver of the award was hailed as a hero after saving the life of a passenger on board a United Airlines flight.

Wu Xiaobo, a thoracic surgery doctor with the People's Hospital of Wuxi, was flying to Los Angeles on Sept 29, 2017, when a fellow passenger fell unconscious and began vomiting.

Wu heeded an in-flight announcement requesting a doctor and determined that the man, in his 50s, had likely suffered a stroke.

He recommended an emergency landing, and two hours later helped escort the stricken passenger off the flight in San Francisco, making sure to follow up with the passenger's treatment.

National moral models are expected to guide the moral construction of all citizens, who should carry forward the spirit of promoting socialist core values as they learn from good people and their deeds.
