The China (Ningbo) – Romania Industry and Logistics Cooperation Forum, held in Romanian Constanta city on Oct 30, marked a new chapter for the logistics ties between Ningbo and the European country.

Constanta, located in the Dobruja region and on the Black Sea coast, is Romania's largest port city. The cargo throughput here ranks first among all ports along the Black Sea coast.

An important part of the 2017 Europe – Ningbo Week, the cooperation forum invited government officials from both sides to witness a friendly relationship between Ningbo and Constanta. In the future, the two cities will promote exchanges and cooperation on port logistics, the construction of industrial parks and production capacity to propel the economic growth.

In addition to the annual China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo, Ningbo and Constanta will build an exchange platform for daily communication, aiming to improve the dialogue mechanism and reach a win-win situation for both.

The cooperation on port management will be the priority, especially the construction of port facilities and the facilitation of trade and investment.

Besides, the cultural exchanges will also be boosted, as well as tourism and other service sectors, enabling people to benefit from the friendly relationship while making the intercity cooperation a strong force for the development of the Belt and Road initiative.

In recent years, Ningbo has been strongly promoting the trade and cultural connection with Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. The bilateral investment and trade volume between the city and Romania maintained a strong growth momentum. By the end of this August, there were 12 Romanian projects registered in Ningbo worth $20.97 million and 16 Ningbo companies and institutes had been established in the CEE country with a total investment of $52.97 million.
