Seven Taiwan youth entrepreneurship and employment bases were unveiled in the Siming district of Xiamen, Fujian province on Oct 29.
The bases include the Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base of Cross-Straits Longshan Cultural and Creative Industrial Park, Cross-Straits Youth Maker Space of the Peking University Entrepreneurs' Training Camp, Fujian and Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center of the Huaqiao University, Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base of the Zengcuoan village, Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base of the Shaweipo Business Area, Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base of the Artwork, and Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base of the Xiamen Taiwan Compatriots Friendship Association.
Young people who are employed or start their own businesses in the bases can enjoy preferential policies. It is estimated that 148 entrepreneurship teams from Taiwan have registered in the bases and 229 young people from Taiwan are currently employed in the bases.
The Siming district also offers supportive funds to Taiwan entrepreneurs. So far, the authorities have allocated 1.6 million yuan ($242,800) to 104 young people from Taiwan.
