A lithium ion battery cathode material project worth 3.8 billion yuan ($572 million) is to settle in Jiuyuan district of Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to an Oct 28 Baotou Daily report.
The project, funded by Inner Mongolia Shanshan Technology Co, will cover an area of 800 mu (53 hectares) and will include coke raw material production lines and natural graphite raw material production lines.
The project is expected to produce 100,000 tons of lithium ion battery cathode material annually upon completion, with annual output estimated to be around 3.85 billion yuan.
