The 2017 Cross-Straits Painting and Calligraphy Exhibit was held in Xiamen Art Museum on Oct 27, running for four days, according to Xiamen Daily on Oct 28.
The exhibit was organized by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film, Press and Publication, Xiamen Daily, and Cross-Straits Calligraphy and Painting Arts Industry Association, aiming to promote the development of Xiamen's art industry and advance the innovative development of China's excellent traditional culture.
Approximately 100 exhibitors attended the exhibit, from the providers of the four precious articles of the writing table (writing brush, ink stick, ink slab and paper) and Jian kiln's black porcelains to leaders from the paintings and calligraphy arts industry.
A collection of special exhibits was held during the 2017 Cross-Straits Painting and Calligraphy Exhibit.
The 120th anniversary show for the Commercial Press which enjoys the longest history of its kind in China displayed the famous paintings and calligraphies, copybooks for calligraphies, and books published by the press.
The invitation exhibit of Taiwan painting masters presented 11 renowned Taiwan painters' 49 paintings, showing the style and features of Taiwan's current ink painting.
The Belt and Road artworks exhibit invited over 10 artists from the Belt and Road countries and regions including Russia, France, Thailand and South Korea to attend the exhibit.
Their works covered a wide range, including oil paintings, traditional Chinese paintings, and sculptures, aiming to demonstrate the beautiful landscape and cultural customs of the Belt and Road countries and regions.
The exhibit has been running for three years since 2015 attracting over 400 art institutions and 300 artists and numerous cooperation projects have been reached during the previous exhibits.
