Ningbo city in East China's Zhejiang province started an exchange event with European countries from Oct 25 to 31 in a bid to promote cooperation in trade and investment between the two sides.
The Europe-Ningbo Week, a platform for Ningbo to seek investment and collaboration in Europe, is expected to boost the city's opening up and improve its international influence. To better fulfill its role as pilot zone for the development of "Made in China 2025" and the Belt and Road initiative, Ningbo will engage European companies and organizations, and promote matchmaking in the industrial sector.
A total of eight activities in seven countries including Germany and Italy are scheduled to take place during the seven-day event, focusing on different sectors such as manufacturing and port logistics.
The first matchmaking symposium was held in Duesseldorf, Germany on Oct 26 with 14 projects worth $1.25 billion successfully signed. These projects were all about intelligent manufacturing and came from Germany, France, Netherland, UK, Sweden and Italy.
