Airbus delivered the first Airbus A320neo plane assembled on the Tianjin-based final assembly line on Oct 25.
The Airbus A320neo plane is equipped with LEAP-1A engines from CFM International and can seat up to 186 passengers.
AirAsia is the biggest customer for A320 planes. It has ordered 578, 404 of them the A320neo model.
The delivery of the first A320neo plane is a milestone for the Airbus Asia final assembly line, which will go on to meet the demands of Asian clients for that aircraft
The Tianjin-based final assembly line was founded in 2008. It's the third airbus final assembly line after Toulouse and Hamburg, and the first outside Europe. About 340 planes have been assembled in Tianjin.
The A320neo plane is equipped new-model engines and wings. It uses 15 percent less fuel than earlier models, a figure that will rise to 20 percent by 2020.
Since 2010, 95 airlines have ordered more than 5,200 planes, which represent 60 percent of the worldwide aircraft market.
