According to administration of forestry and gardening of Guangzhou municipality, more than 20 flower-admiring sites have been built across the city, offering citizens and tourists more than 80 floral sights to visit.

The city has also been striving to improve the greenery along its main streets, avenues and city entrances and exits.

Currently, there are more than 200,000 flowering plants that have been planted in Guangzhou including kapoks, Chinese redbuds and golden bell trees.

The city is planning to apply for China Habitat Environment Example Prize, the top prize for cities which have achieved great success in improving their living environment, granted by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
