The Wuhan International Circuit is in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (Hannan), referred to as the WHDZ, and is situated just north of Dongjing River and east of Longling Mountain. It covers an area of nearly 100 hectares. Planned to the first grade standard and designed to the second grade standard, after completion the racetrack will be able to hold all domestic races and second (or lower) grade international races. It could be upgraded to a first grade racetrack over time and stage races of all grades, including Formula 1. The 4.3 kilometers circuit will accommodate 67,500 people, and be the only track eligible for authentication by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile within a radius of 500 km in central China.
