Heilongjiang University and Moscow State University recently signed an agreement to establish a graduate school of interpretation and translation, cultivating talented new translators.
The school, which is affiliated to Heilongjiang University, will start to enroll students as early as the beginning of 2018. Students will study at Heilongjiang University and Moscow State University respectively for a year, and they will graduate with degree certificates from both of the universities.
Graduates from the school will be qualified for interpretation, translation and simultaneous interpretation in sectors such as diplomacy, foreign trade and economic cooperation, as well as culture and telecommunications.
The establishment of the school is to satisfy increasing links between Russia and China, and is in line with the Belt and Road Initiative.
