China Medical Biotech Forum held in Qingdao

The Eighth China Medical Biotech Forum was held in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province from Oct 18 to 21.

The forum, hosted by the China Medical Biotech Association (CMBA), attracted some 1,700 specialists, industry experts and medicine manufacturers from all over the world, including Tim Hunt, a UK biochemist who won the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine in 2001 and members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The Nobel Prize-winning British biochemist shared his research results of cell cycle regulation at the main forum, while Wei Yuquan, Chen Zhinan, and Wang Zhixin, three well-known industry experts made reports on China's development of innovative drugs and precision medicine.

The event provided a platform to showcase the latest technological innovations, exchange information about new research, discuss future research trends and the application of new medical biotechnology, as well as promote collaboration between academia and industry.According to the Qingdao government, the forum also helped to demonstrate the city's achievements in the field of medical biotechnology and lift its international profile in the industry.
