In the end of 2012, the working and management committees of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (Hannan) founded an advanced manufacturing industrial zone to further implement "Industries Double Plan" and promote a "City-industry Integration and Urban-rural Integration" strategy.
The Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Zone covers an area of 60.62 square kilometers and consists of Dunkou Old Industrial Park (48.26 square kilometers), Phoenix Industrial Park (8.37 square kilometers), Huangjinkou Industrial Park (2.98 square kilometers) and Dongfeng Honda II (1.01 square kilometers).
There are 1,115 companies in the Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Zone, including 213 industrial enterprises above a designated size and 902 below a designated size.
In 2016, gross output of industrial enterprises above a designated size in the zone was 263.88 billion yuan ($39.88 billion). The investment in fixed assets reached 20.9 billion yuan.
